AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She plays as an attacker and captain for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the most prestigious division of women's soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan rapinoe from 2018 until 2020. [8][9] Morgan was selected by the Western New York Flash at number one in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her studies at Berkeley early. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional with the club and assisted the team win the league championship. Morgan was 22 at the time and was the youngest player on the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. In the 2012 London Olympics she scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final game against Canada. The 2012 season ended with 21 and 28 goals. assists, joining Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and give 20 assists within the same calendar year and making her the sixth the youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was the FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan helped the United States win their titles at the 2015 and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, where she was named to the Dream Team for both tournaments, while she won the Silver Boot in 2019.
